There are thousands of one-off cases where humans were killed by animals. However, only a select few of these creatures have frequently incorporated human flesh into their day-to-day diet. The list of these predators includes lions, tigers, leopards, polar bears, and crocodilians. While these creatures all vary, their lust for human meat acts as a morbid parallel between them.
One standout case of a man-eater happened at the land of imagination, Disney World. Lane Graves, a 2-year-old boy, tragically lost his life at the Grand Floridian Hotel. The boy was standing at the edge of a lagoon and was snatched by an alligator. The alligator pulled the boy into the gloomy depths of the water, where he regretfully drowned.
A more extreme case of a foreboding man-eater is the story of the legendary Champawat tiger. This tigress killed over 200 people in Nepal. Entire villages would flee to the site of this unrelenting creature. Eventually, it was forced out of Nepal and relocated to Uttarakhand, India. Here, the ruthless beast brought its kill count to 436 humans. The tiger was finally hunted down and killed in 1907.
Ultimately, man-eaters serve as an ominous reminder that humans are more fragile than we like to believe.
