New Cooper Dragons

Cooper dragons come from all around the world!

At the start of the 2019-2020 school year, the Cooper Community welcomed 44 new students to campus. Hailing from cities and schools around the world, the new students this year are a diverse bunch. The award for furthest traveled student goes to Christina Boufarah, who moved 8014 miles around the earth to attend the John Cooper School. Worthy of an honorable mention is Aleeza Adil, who moved 8000 miles from Luanda, Angola, trailing Christina by a mere 14 miles. Although transitioning to a new environment can be a challenge, new students have been enjoying their time at Cooper.

“I love the different type of schedule and structure of school days at Cooper,” Said Liv Anderson, a Sophomore. “Also I’ve really enjoyed getting to know the basketball girls during school and offseason training”. Maya Nivarthi, a senior, has appreciated the provisions on campus, saying that she “enjoys the free chocolate milk at Cooper”. Along with block schedules and chocolate milk, new students have also been enjoying the unique community that exists here at Cooper. “I love John Cooper because it is a small community and everybody is so inviting,” said Yasmin Sebastiany.
